- Description
Although there have been beehives in Mouchão for many decades, honey was only produced in 2011. Bees get their wild honey from local lavender, broom and eucalyptus bushes.
In the late 19th century, John Reynolds purchased the Herdade do Mouchão, a 900-hectare property with two small rivers. In addition to the current cork production, the family planted vineyards there. Native grape varieties are still used today, and the grapes are hand-picked and stomped with the feet.
