- Description
Wine with a very independent character, it pleasantly brings the Montsant style into the glass.
Juvenile purple red. Pleasant and multilayered aroma, notes of violets, dried fruit, ground rock, smoked fat, charcoal. Fresh and juicy structured, slightly dry tannins with grip, well balanced with medium body, nice reverberation of floral aromas and a little whiskey.
Hand picked and selected. The Garnacha vineyards grow on slate soils, the Cariñena vineyards on clay and Syrah on limestone, so three different terroirs combined in one bottle! The medium Can Blau wine is aged for 12 months in new and used French oak barrels.
40% Carinena
20% Garnacha
40% Syrah
Founded in 2003 and owned by Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares. 35 hectares of vineyards, planted with the typical grapes of the Garnacha, Cariñena, Mazuelo and Shiraz region. The average age of the vineyards is 40 years.
Cellers Can Blau is one of the oldest projects of the Gil family. The vineyards of Montsants are flatter than those of the neighboring Priorat, but more diversified in their soils. The use of the native Cariñena grape is particularly exciting in Can Blau.
