Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Quintarelli

Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a still red wine with an impenetrable rubycolor and is classified
DOC
. The vines are located in the geographical area of Valpolicella, Veneto. The winery is located in the hills of Negrar where vineyards alternate with olive groves and cherry orchards and produces Amarone only in exceptional vintages so much so that it is unanimously considered a collector’s wine. Rich in flavor, sensual and opulent, it is a benchmark for other types of Amarone.

To blend this precious Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Quintarelli wineries use mainly Corvina grapes combined with Rondinella with varying percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Croatina, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. Grapes are carefully selected during the harvest, which takes place from mid-September to early October. Once harvested, the grapes are set aside and well arranged on trellises and inside wooden boxes so that they are left to dry naturally. Noble mold appears between late November and early December. Fermentation by indigenous yeasts is characterized by slowness since it takes about 45 days, soft crushing takes place in February, followed by two months of maceration. After the racking phase, the wine matures for a full 7 years in medium-large Slavonian oak barrels where further alcoholic fermentation takes place that will give birth to the Amarone Quintarelli, known for its extraordinary complexity.

It is garnet in color to the eye.
The nose is powerful, intense with hints of red fruit, bitter almonds, cherry.
In the mouth it is full, warm, harmonious, balanced, tannic. Very long and very persistent with tarry aftertaste.

Giuseppe Quintarelli’s name has been a guiding light in Valpolicella for years, representing the quintessence of an area that is now rightly recognized as among the most prestigious in Italian winemaking.
In the Negrar valley, twelve hectares of vineyards, where the native varieties of corvina, corvinone, rondinella and molinara meet, yield about 50 thousand bottles annually. We are talking about a very ancient history, which began in the early 1900s with Silvio Quintarelli, then continued, since the middle of the century, under the sign of tradition and the highest quality rigor with the youngest of his sons, “Bepi,” today the undisputed master of Amarone. Born out of the deepest respect for nature and a very strict selection of grapes, Quintarelli’s are wines with a capital “V,” labels that encapsulate important centuries-old skills and unique awareness, which year after year are put into practice, as much between the rows as in the withering techniques and cellar practices. But it doesn’t end there: those of Quintarelli are also wines that surprise for their great vitality, a characteristic that, as if that were not enough, makes them naturally predisposed for a very long aging, during which they improve enormously, then expressing themselves for a long time even after the bottle is opened.
