The fruity, floral, slightly acidic taste and olfactory components give Modernist Old Tom Gin an unmistakable and gentle character, accompanied by a slight sweetness. Like Dry Gin, Old Tom Gin is made on the basis of a neutral alcohol distillate made from cereal grains and various herbs and spices and manufactured plant substances. The difference is that it is sweetened with candy sugar after distillation and storage. The base macerate of Modernist Old Tom Gin is made on the basis of 18 carefully selected plant substances. Botanicals are sourced from local producers and carefully macerated. Distillation in small units of 100 bottles each in a traditional copper plant and subsequent refrigerated storage for several weeks, aging with candied mountain herb sugar, and bottling take place amidst the rolling hills of Basel. Modernist Old Tom Gin can be enjoyed neat because of its mild character and is ideal as a base for Driks and gin and tonic creations.

Juniper, mountain pepper, alpine coriander, fennel seed, gentian root, angelica root, iris root, lemon thyme, licorice, orange mint, mountain sage, rosemary, birch leaves, spruce needles, elderberry blossoms, elderberries, basil, lemon, and candy sugar are the carefully selected ingredients.
