The Cabernet Franc carries spice and lightness from the glass to the palate and is full of vibrancy, with good structure and fine tannins. Nec-Otium is based on the Saumur style, developing the wine in old wooden barrels and filling it unfiltered.

Friuli Venezia Giulia, located in the northeastern part of the Italian peninsula, is an undoubtedly relevant region in the overall viticultural landscape of the Bel Paese; and it is normal that there is a certain tradition in these areas, since here the cultivation of vines has remote origins, to be coincided first with the arrival of the population of the Eneti, then with the Romans, who were destined to develop viticulture to a greater extent. With its approximately 20,000 hectares of vineyards, it is especially since the middle of the last century that Friuli Venezia Giulia has begun to distinguish itself, both for the modernity of the viticultural practices adopted and for the great quality of the wines produced. The total areas under vines are more or less equally divided between the cultivation of white and red grape varieties, although it is mainly for whites, Friulano, Picolit and Ribolla Gialla above all, that the region has made its mark internationally in recent years. Against this backdrop, toward the regional border with Slovenia, in the municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone, on the banks of the river of the same name, is home to the small farm Necotium. The origin of the name comes from the Latin word “nec otium” or “not idleness”: thus, this expression meant attending to one’s own affairs and chores. Interests that, for Christian Patat, owner of the winery, are found in the cultivation of his own vineyards, comprised between the Natisone hills and the “Ronchi” of Manzano. Here, thanks to the daily sweat of the brow, mainly tocai, schioppettino, sauvignon and malvasia are grown, giving rise to five bottles, faithful to the terroir of origin and characterized by a great freshness as well as a marked drinkability. The road to excellence is downhill for the young farm Necotium, and it is to be traveled with perseverance and resourcefulness, to continue to create something unique in the glass.
