Millepassi is made from only the best grapes
The name refers to the ancient Roman measure of length milium, which corresponds to 1480 meters or the thousand steps required, Italian: mille passi, to go from one milestone to another on Roman roads.
Bright garnet red, intense with violet hues. Notes of berries, spices, cinnamon, pepper and cocoa on the nose. Full-bodied, elegant with silky tannins and a long spicy finish.
Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then malolactic fermentation. 24 months in French oak barrels, half new and half used. Stored in bottle for another six months.

The estate, which bears the name “Donna Olimpia 1898” (Olimpia Alliata, Lady of Biserno and bride of Gherardo della Gherardesca, who gave her name to the estate in 1898 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their marriage), has an area of about 60 hectares all located in the Bolgheri DOC and covers a strip of land that goes from Km 167.8 of the Aurelia state highway inland for about 1.2 km; the morphology of the land is flat and cultivated for 45 hectares with vineyards and partly with arable land.
