An amber-colored rum with subtle notes of pipe tobacco, raisins and plums. Its bittersweet, full-bodied finish features aromas of chocolate, tropical fruits, and roasted fruits.

Distilled in the classic pot-still process and then stored in American oak barrels for 3-4 years. The rum is stored in Ferrand cognac barrels for another one to two years before bottling. Storage in former bourbon cognac barrels allows for a subtle rum with notes of tropical fruits such as mango and papaya and a fine spice reminiscent of nutmeg. Perfect for aperitifs or classic cocktails such as Mai Tai.

After successfully taking over the traditional but aged cognac house Pierre Ferrand in 1989, Alexander Gabriel launched the gin brand Citadelle in 1996 and only a year later the rum brand Plantation. But how does a cognac producer get to rum? Alexander Gabriel decides to sell his highly prized barrels to producers who ask him. Requests continue to come in for cognac barrels used to refine rum during the aging process, especially from the Caribbean and Latin America. His interest is piqued. So he travels to the Caribbean to get an idea of exactly what happens to these barrels and is overwhelmed and fascinated by the versatility and range that this distillate offers. So he decides to turn the tables and from now on he buys barrels full of rum from the producers, which he then brought to France and then takes them under his wing and thus decides in which cognac barrels they will continue to mature and for how long. He has continued to professionalize and improve this concept, which is why he was voted Rum Blender of the Year at the 2012 Golden Rum Barrels Awards.
