Sul Gin comes from Altonaer Spirituosen Manufaktur, founded in 2013 in the port city of Hamburg.

Tucked away in a courtyard is the former warehouse, later converted into a carpentry workshop and finally transformed into today’s distillery. In the handy room, a small copper still, holding only 100 liters, is at work converting the mixture of high-proof neutral alcohol, various botanicals and water into gin.

Sul Gin is flavored with lemons, organic juniper berries, rosemary, allspice, lavender, cinnamon and rose petals, among others. One special ingredient is cistus, a plant native to the western Algarve whose leaves and twigs give off a pleasantly fragrant oily resin that protects against the relentless sun of the hot coastal region.

Sul Dry Gin A Gordhina is none other than the version in the double magnum bottle. The 3-liter bottle is made of glass instead of clay so as not to add unnecessary weight and has a handy spout.
