THE VINEYARD: THE FOUNDATION
OF A GREAT WINE.

Our intent is to make local wine. This means that we try, with our careful work, to support and enhance its unique characteristics, what the Latins called Genius Loci , the Spirit of the Place. In this way we express elegant, complex wines with great personality.

The main part of our vineyards is located in the best area of Bolgheri, on the first slopes of the hills. In total, the vineyard area is about 20 ha.

The vineyards are surrounded by Mediterranean scrub woods and olive groves. They are naturally grassed and managed with the care and knowledge of the winemaker, in a sustainable way according to the holistic principles of integrated viticulture.

At Guado al Melo we have a remarkable biodiversity of grape varieties. We wanted to retrace the entire history of our territory, from the most contemporary to the traditional one, up to the most ancient Mediterranean tradition, the complementing of several varieties in a single vineyard.
