Pommery Apanage Brut

Pommery Apanage is one of Domaine Pommery’s prestige champagnes. In addition to Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, it has a very high percentage of Chardonnay, and only Grand Cru sites are used. Before it reaches the shelves and exclusive restaurants around the world, it is matured for a long time in the huge chalk cellars of Reims.

Creamy aromas of pink grapefruit on the nose. On the palate there are notes of hazelnuts combined with apricot as well as hints of tobacco and toast

In the heart of the city of Reims, Madame Pommery opened Domaine Pommery in July 1858 with a vision to create a new style of champagne. The project began with the widow having chalk tunnels dug and turned into ripening cellars. Both on the estate itself and around Reims, numerous vineyards were cultivated with the understanding that the soil would be the determining factor in the quality of their wines. When Madame Pommery introduced the first dry vinified champagne in 1874, she revolutionized the champagne world. Then champagne was traditionally sweet. Then as now, quality is the top priority for Pommery. Sustainability and natural cultivation play an important role in the Champagne AOC protected area. Since 2014, the Pommery house has been certified with the environmental labels “Viticulture Sustainable en Champagne” and “Haute Valeur Environnementale.” In the Pommery Rosé Brut Apanage, the high proportion of Chardonnay grants it a reputation as a prestige champagne, for which only grapes from Grand Cru areas are used. There are also Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier: during the long period of maturation in chalk cellars, its complex berry aroma can develop perfectly.
