Aperol

The orange-red aperitif is still prepared today according to the original 1919 recipe, obviously top secret. A lot can be revealed: rhubarb, cinchona bark, gentian, bitter oranges and a variety of herbs are part of the recipe.
The brothers Silvio and Luigi Barbieri developed this aperitif in 1919, the recipe has remained unchanged since then. The name Aperol comes from the French, it is based on the word aperitif. Today Aperol is a registered trademark of the Campari Group, which markets the product all over the world.
