- Description
At “The Champagne Sparkling Wine World Championships 2021” again this year, Follador Prosecco reaches the top of the competition. The 2020 world champion RUIOL CASTEI – Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Millesimato D.O.C.G. Extra Dry, gets another award GOLD!
The world’s best prosecco in 2020 has been Follador since 1769. The success of the wine house present in the province of Treviso in Col San Martino, a hamlet of Farra di Soligo, comes with the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg. Extra Dry 2019 winning the Trophy medal at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2020, “prestigious competition dedicated to fine champagnes and sparkling wines from five continents.” “Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg. Extra Dry 2019- a note explains- is a pleasantly fruity wine, capable of expressing a delicate balance of golden apple, peach, pear and floral hints of wisteria.”
Beginning in 1769, with Giovanni Follador being honored for the quality of his wine by the Doge of Venice Alvise IVº Mocenigo, the Follador family has humbly followed their passion, carefully and devotedly charting a model for Italian sparkling wine. Gianfranco Follador, a descendant of Giovanni, was able to bring about a change in the family tradition by devoting himself to sparkling wine. In 1970, Gianfranco Follador, together with his wife Italia, founded Follador Spumanti, one of the first sparkling wine companies in Valdobbiadene, continuing this tradition of quality, passion and excellence in wine production. Follador’s Prosecco line is a hallmark of fine sparkling wines. Fine and persistent perlage, rich bouquets with elegant, dry finish are the result of uncommon skill handed down for more than two centuries
