Plantation 3 Stars White rum is a fresh and tasty rum, owing its smooth texture to the barrel aging of some of the rums used (their color disappeared during charcoal filtration). Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago are represented in this rum.

A blend of different rums: an unaged Barbados rum, a Trinidad rum aged two to three years, and a portion of unaged Jamaica rum and a small portion of Jamaica rum aged up to 10 years. It is then filtered through activated carbon, losing its dark color in the process. So even though we have white rum, it is not completely clear and transparent. But an incredible flavor profile that almost no other molasses-based white rum can offer

After successfully taking over the traditional but aged cognac house Pierre Ferrand in 1989, Alexander Gabriel launched the gin brand Citadelle in 1996 and only a year later the rum brand Plantation. But how does a cognac producer get to rum? Alexander Gabriel decides to sell his highly prized barrels to producers who ask him. Requests continue to come in for cognac barrels used to refine rum during the aging process, especially from the Caribbean and Latin America. His interest is piqued. So he travels to the Caribbean to get an idea of exactly what happens to these barrels and is overwhelmed and fascinated by the versatility and range that this distillate offers. So he decides to turn the tables and from now on he buys barrels full of rum from the producers, which he then brought to France and then takes them under his wing and thus decides in which cognac barrels they will continue to mature and for how long. He has continued to professionalize and improve this concept, which is why he was voted Rum Blender of the Year at the 2012 Golden Rum Barrels Awards.
