A truly exceptional champagne for special occasions
The house’s most famous wine was created in 1876 for the high taste requirements of Tsar Alexander II.
On the nose fine brioche, almonds, apples, apricots, subtle vanilla tones. On the palate very intense and complex, precise and dense, creamy with a delicate and airy texture, extremely elegant and rich in finesse, ripe, fruity and deep with a very fine perlage. The finish is long and powerful with beautiful minerality.
Cristal is made only in those great vintages when the Chardonnay, around 40 percent, and Pinot noir, around 60 percent, reach their perfect maturity. It is then stored in the cellar for six years and rests for another eight months after dégorgement.
The champagne house, founded in 1776, is one of the few that has been able to maintain its independence.
The estate covers 240 hectares in the best growing areas of Champagne, Grands and Premiers Crus in the Reims Mountains, on the Côte de Blancs and in the Marne Valley.
The principles of biodynamic cultivation are increasingly being used.
