East-facing slopes on limestone and clay soils between 300 and 500 meters in the Bassa Atesina are considered the ideal terroir for Gewürztraminer, a wine that is very demanding about location. While in cooler places this grape variety fails to develop its full aromatic variety, it loses too much acidity in areas that are too hot.
