Carato Riserva is made from the best selections of Merlot grapesfrom vines more than 40 years old. The grapes are grown in vineyards in the Locarno Hills, where they benefit from the best sunshine during the day, and the cool night breeze, the grapes enjoy the best conditions for perfect ripening. Carato Riserva rests for about two years in new French oak Barriques, called in the Italian language “Carati.” A wine of great structure that fully reflects the Terroir that generated it, of intense and spicy character of great aromatic finesse and elegance.
Intense ruby red color with violet hues, deep, sweet, at first reminiscent of cassis and blackberry, then leather, light tobacco, eucalyptus and tea leaves, balsamic. In the mouth it is full, racy, voluminous, long and persistent, at the same time elegant and spicy, with great structure and suitable for aging.
A history steeped in fine wines, love of tradition and careful innovation. A story that began thanks to Angelo Delea and is carried on today, always with the same passion and dedication, by his sons David and Cesare.
It all begins in Losone, in the heart of Ticino, in 1983, and it is Ticino with its mild microclimate and rich soil that, by offering its best fruits, allows us to create superior wine.
Over the years, Delea Wines & Distillates has been able to evolve while maintaining very high levels of quality, as evidenced by numerous awards and recognitions. In fact, today it stands as an innovative and spectacular company that can boast a Team of more than 40 people.
