Blanc De Fè

When the table is that of seafood cuisine, when the occasions are convivial and informal, and when you want to spend a couple of hours dining with your best friends, then an excellent answer is the “Blanc de Fè,” a white wine from the Veneto region labeled Nardello, and made from a blend of equal parts garganega, trebbiano di Soave and chardonnay grapes. Left to mature exclusively in steel, it gives a delicately aromatic drink in which the three different varieties come to express all their best characteristics. We find on the sip a variegated and progressive White, full and soft in taste, international and juicy on the one hand, classic and smooth on the other. Given also the value for money, it is a White, in essence, really not to be missed.

Light straw yellow and bright the color. On the nose, it opens by initially allowing hints of white flowers, then followed by fruity tones of pineapple and green apple. The mouthfeel is enveloping and soft, with excellent persistence and pleasantly savory on the close.

The Nardello family have been winemakers for generations in Monteforte d’Alpone, a small town in the province of Verona. The farm has about 14 hectares most of which represent a historic core that has always been owned by the Nardello family. In almost all the vineyards, the average age of the plants is about 40 to 50 years.

The earliest documented traces, of Nardello family life date back to the mid-500′. We can date with certainty the purchase of the house on Via 4 Novembre, the current company headquarters, with a notarial deed dated May 6, 1608. The property is sold by the Veronese Boniotti family to Leonado and Zuane (Giovanni) dei Nardello. From the surveys of the following years we were able to ascertain the ownership by our ancestors of land located in the districts of Rubian Zoppega and Novella , grassy arable land and land ” with vineyards.” Cultivation of the soil, and later specialization in vine cultivation, has always been the home trade. “This is why it was possible for us to inherit such an important vineyard heritage; the average age of the plants is close to 50 years in some plots.”
