But how does a cognac producer get to rum? Alexander Gabriel decides to sell his highly valued barrels to producers who ask him. Requests continue to come in for cognac barrels used to refine rum during the aging process, especially from the Caribbean and Latin America. Your interest is piqued. So he travels to the Caribbean to get an idea of exactly what happens to these barrels and is overwhelmed and fascinated by the versatility and range that this distillate offers. So he decides to turn the situation around and from now on he buys from the producers the barrels full of rum, which he then brought to France and then he takes them under his wing and thus decides in which cognac barrels they will continue to mature and for how long.
