Santiago de Cuba Anejo has a dark color because it has been aged in oak barrels for at least twelve years.
The distillery in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city on the island, is one of the island’s oldest and most traditional businesses. Rum has been produced there since 1862. This rum is one of the most popular liquors in Cuba.
Beautiful dark amber. Sweet caramel aromas. On the palate soft and round, yet powerful and full-bodied. Tart chocolate harmoniously combined with sweet vanilla aromas and spicy notes. Perfectly balanced. It also pairs very well with Cuban cigars.
Santiago de Cuba is far from the Cuban capital Havana. The city is also the namesake of the state-owned Cuba Ron Corporation SA rum brand Since the Bacardi and Matusalén production plants were handed over to the state in 1960, the said rum has been produced in Santiago de Cuba.
