- Description
The oldest champagne house produces wines in the ancient tradition that are perfectly adapted to modern times.
They appear calm and dignified and surprise with their liveliness.
The fragrance is fresh and fruity. Contains notes of white-fleshed fruit. In the foreground are distinct notes of pear, behind them traces of dried fruits, especially hazelnuts and almonds. This is followed by aromas of white flowers such as acacia, hawthorn and dog rose. Lactic-hazelnut nuances and a touch of brioche add to these intense fragrances.
Using the champenoise method.
Awards: Wine Spectator, 91 points
Dom Thierry Ruinart, a contemporary of Louis XIV, was a hard-working Benedictine, brilliant theologian and historian. At 23 he was called to an abbey near Paris. There at court he met the new wine with pearls, which was much appreciated by young nobles. His grandson founded Ruinart in 1729.
