The Ruinart champagne house owns about 14 hectares of its own vineyards. With an annual turnover of 150,000 bottles, it is one of the largest houses small .
100% Chardonnay from the Côtes des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.
Straw yellow color with lively perlage. On the nose there are aromas of ripe apples and pears as well as subtle notes of brioches. The mousse is fine-grained and long-lasting.
Awards: Wine Spectator, 93 points and Falstaff, 94 points
Dom Thierry Ruinart, a contemporary of Louis XIV, was a hardworking Benedictine, brilliant theologian and historian. At 23 he was called to an abbey near Paris. There at court he met the new wine with pearls, much appreciated by the young nobles. His grandson founded Ruinart in 1729.
