The Paul Mas estates reflect the richness and diversity of the Languedoc terroir, and the Mas family has been cultivating vineyards since 1892. In 2000, Jean-Claude Mas, winemaker and owner, created a network of partner companies to claim the prestige of the Languedoc region based on the 35 hectares of vineyards bequeathed by his father Paul Mas. With 750 hectares of estate vineyards, 100 hectares of which are organic, plus the 1450 hectares of vineyards of 80 associated winemakers, Jean-Vlaude Mas works the wines with authenticity and refinement, using 45 different grape varieties, native or noble, on the extraordinarily varied soil of the Languedoc, between sea and mountains, where wind is an important element of the region’s typicality.
