The farm was born in the 1960s when Giorgio Lanzetta bought the land, dedicating part of it to vineyards and bringing from his homeland of Abruzzo the Montepulciano grape, a grape that has amply demonstrated great character.
In the 1975/80s new vineyards were planted with the prospect of producing quality red wine with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Montepulciano grapes. The product was originally placed in bulk on the market, later the DOC Colli Amerini was established into which Fattoria Le Poggette re-entered entirely with its vineyards.
