The roots of the Lantenhammers distillery reside in Hausham in the Agatharied district. Amalie and Josef Lantenhammer founded their gentian distillery in 1928. Today, the family still considers itself Bavarian and rich in tradition, but also cosmopolitan and innovative. The distillery is one of the most modern producers in Europe.
