Typical example of pure Sangiovese, red color with traces of violet, with interesting aromas of plum, cherry and currant. In its simplicity it is as warm as a hug and rewards with a great return. Balanced.

Carpineta Fontalpino is the ancient name for our land, a child of the historic places where it is located: the carpineta, place of trees of hornbeam, a plant with silver-backed leaves, and fountain-to-pine, in reference to a centuries-old spring, once surrounded by pine trees, located within our estate.

The winery stands in the shadow of the hill of Montaperti, the scene of the mythical battle that took place back on September 4, 1260. Dante Alighieri recalls it in his conversation with Farinata degli Uberti, in Canto X of the Inferno: it is the famous “strazio e ‘l grande scempio che fece l’Arbia colorata in rosso,” which the Sienese still recall with pride for the victory they won against rival Florence.
