Enveloping Sangiovese, with notes of flowers and spices, soft to drink, with velvety tannins. It has an innate elegance and freshness. A lunar, feminine and ethereal wine.

Barrique mellowed its roundness and balance. Blackberries, blueberries, plums, vanilla, licorice and cocoa.

Carpineta Fontalpino is the ancient name for our land, a child of the historic places where it is located: the carpineta, place of trees of hornbeam, a plant with silver-backed leaves, and fountain-to-pine, in reference to a centuries-old spring, once surrounded by pine trees, located within our estate.

The winery stands in the shadow of the hill of Montaperti, the scene of the mythical battle that took place back on September 4, 1260. Dante Alighieri recalls it in his conversation with Farinata degli Uberti, in Canto X of the Inferno: it is the famous “strazio e ‘l grande scempio che fece l’Arbia colorata in rosso,” which the Sienese still recall with pride for the victory they won against rival Florence.
