- Description
Intense, bright ruby red. In the bouquet, the wine captivates with aromas of red berries such as currants, raspberries and cherries. Sweet notes reminiscent of exotic fragrances are present as well as spicy and ethereal notes such as licorice and eucalyptus, with a finish of bay leaf and sage. Elegant on the palate, showing silky, full-bodied tannins well present. The aromas of the bouquet are found, which then end with pleasantly fruity notes. Lingering aftertaste with intense aromas and a nice fresh, mineral finish.
The wine was transferred to 225-liter French oak barrels, in which malolactic fermentation was completed. Expansion took place in barriques and then in bottles.
50% Cabernet Sauvignon
30% Merlot
15% Cabernet Franc
5% Petit Verdot
A LANDSCAPE PROJECT
It is the essence of Tenuta Argentiera’s winery, a serene guardian of a harmonious landscape.
In a magnificent handkerchief of Maremma land combining countryside and sea, suspended between woods and Mediterranean scrub, stands Tenuta Argentiera.
We are in the heart of the small but prestigious Bolgheri DOC, a terroir devoted to great red wines, in the very area of the famous Super Tuscans.
The name Argentiera carries an evocative meaning: it comes from the silver mines once found in this area of the Upper Maremma, which is also rich in natural springs and healing waters.
The Estate is the closest to the Tyrrhenian coast and at the same time the one that reaches the highest altitude of the entire Bolgheri territory, reaching 200 meters above sea level: this duplicity makes it different from all the others and manages to create a microclimate with unique characteristics.
