Probably even things and not only people have a written destiny, at least this comes to mind when rereading the history of this villa. It owes its current aristocratic appearance to a double renovation carried out a century apart.
In the second half of the 19th century, Cav. Luigi Rossetti, a wealthy merchant in the area, transformed a farmhouse presumably dating back to the 16th century into his elegant home, as well as the seat of his wine trade, as a function of which he built the beautiful cellars carved out of the living rock of the sloping hill behind the villa.
Upon the death of Cav. Rossetti follows a slow decline and everything seems to be over, but at the end of the 1970s another man -of wine- breaks into the -life- of the villa: Franco Ziliani ” Patron of Guido Berlucchi ” visits it, finding it in a desolate condition, but grasps the enormous charm and uniqueness of the cellars.
After a series of major consolidation, reconstruction and restoration works, the villa and the garden with its characteristic crags sloping down from the hill return to welcome and enchant its guests, immersing them in the warmth of rooms furnished with understated elegance.
