- Description
Pignolo has a long-suffering history that has seen it accompany the people of Friuli since the early Middle Ages and then disappear almost entirely as a sensitive and unproductive grape. Recovered through clonal selection, Pignolo was relaunched in the Buttrio area and finally found a place in the Colli Orientali DOC in 1995. Rich with restless tannins bathed in the deep red of its color, it transports us to notes of ripe berries, herbs and fine spices. Aging: 16-20 months in barrique and 16-20 months in bottle
The Felluga family has been making Wine in the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali for five generations, in 1994 Marco Felluga became the owner of Buttrio Castle, his daughter Alessandra Felluga initiated a long process of land expansion, with the renovation of historic vineyards. The farm was founded on excellence in the deepest respect for the land and its authenticity.
Our wine is a story about the land, about stories and emotions, about the places and the men who inhabited them.
