- Description
More than 20 carefully selected botanicals, mostly from the Alpine region, form the basis of Modernist Alpine Dry Gin. Old Tom Gin is sweetened with cane sugar after distillation and storage. And Anapurna, the spice liqueur with plants from Indochina. The three are produced in Basel.
During their tour through Burma, four friends came up with the idea of creating a gin themselves. This Basel gin is composed of 20 selected botanicals, almost all of them from the Alpine region and sourced from local distributions. Juniper is brought from northern Italy; this is known for its particularly fine aroma. A small batch of only 50 liters is burned in the Basel area.
More than 20 exquisite botanicals give Alpine Dry Gin its complex aroma, from finely spiced to fruity to earthy-asperic. In addition to the classic ingredients, herbs and plants from the mountain region such as thyme and sage, birch leaves and spruce needles are used in the fine distillate.
The modernist’s recipe was available only after more than 50 experimental distillations: the botanicals, some of them from the Alpine region, are obtained from local producers, and the distillation is in the Basel area.
