The current Louis Roederer Collection 242 is based on the house’s 242nd harvest and a perennial assemblage.

This comes from optimally selected plots each year, with priority given to sustainable viticulture practices. Grapes are harvested separately at the ideal time and vinified individually, like a vintage champagne.

The Collection 242 blend is made from Chardonnay grapes, whose harvest was very successful in 2017. The Chardonnay was extremely ripe and thus was able to impart a wonderful sweetness and ripe fruit notes with a woody touch to the wine composition. On the palate the wine is generous and ripe with the fullness typical of great Chardonnays. Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes from the Marne Valley enhance the savory, soft, juicy and generous character of this wine. Beautifully dynamic and fresh in the finish.
