Lugana is the harmonious white wine that can converse with discerning palates, from the delicate, fresh aromas to the flavor and structure that make it memorable. With our rich heritage of red wines worthy of aging, we see the long-lived Lugana Le Fornaci as the leader of our premium white wines. Le Fornaci is a blend obtained from the separate vinification of two vineyards with very different soil compositions. Each contributes to completing the picture of a wine that has much to tell, now and even more so with a few years of aging.
Bright and intense yellow on the nose, it is fruity and fragrant, on notes of tropical fruit and grapefruit. The taste is dry and harmonious and has an elegant freshness of flavor. It is intense and persistent on the savory, mineral finish with the typical hint of almond.
Lugana Le Fornaci is made from carefully harvested grapes. This is followed by slow fermentation at controlled temperature (14°/18°) and racking by natural sedimentation. Aged for about 3 months on lees and fine yeasts followed by maturation in stainless steel.
