- Description
Selected small plots in the warm slopes of the Gambarogno region on Lake Maggiore. It is the cru concept: to enhance the terroir of a unique place. Very carefully tended vineyards raised on characteristic soils and in special microclimates, waiting for the best ripening of the grapes. Traditional winemaking. Efforts are made to have the potential of this grape exclusively brought out in the typicality of its environment.
- Color – Intense ruby red.
- Nose – Intense, complex, with distinct hints of ripe small berries, fine and persistent.
- Taste – Dry, warm, soft, large volume, harmonious and persistent. Silky tannins, savory, enveloping.
- Pairing – Red and white meats, soft cheeses.
Founded in 1950 by the desire of Bruno Chiericati, Italian wine importer and traveling salesman. On his bicycle he rode the length and breadth of Ticino and gave Chiericati a valuable name.
In 1989, Merlot production began thanks to the strength of Angelo Cavalli and his wife Carolina “Lina” Chiericati. With the help of their daughter Bruna, they were able to give a strong identity to the Chiericati, which is now among the most important establishments in the area.
In 2019, the newest member of the family, Luca, joins the company. Young and energetic aims to achieve new goals that we cannot reveal yet.
