The Cuvée Royale from Tenuta Montenisa in the Franciacorta wine region has been produced from a selection of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc for more than 20 years. The base wine is made by alcoholic fermentation of the free must in stainless steel tanks, followed by re-fermentation in the bottle for 36 months. Being in constant contact with yeast, the wine forms the characteristic creamy mousse and finely persistent perlage.

For 26 generations, the Antinori family has been dedicated to viticulture and the wine trade in Tuscany. It all began in 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine guild of vintners and wine merchants. More than 600 years later, it is Marchese Piero Antinori and his daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia who control the winery and its five cellars.
