Maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks for an average period of 14-15 days. Malolactic fermentation in second-passage French oak barrels and subsequent aging for about 20 months. Bottle aging for about 6 months.

La Spinetta is now one of the most important wineries in Piedmont, a true benchmark for the production of Barolo and Barbaresco. This is a family-run production business that was established in 1977, when Giuseppe Rivetti, known as “Pin,” decided to move to the hilltop of Castagnole Lanze, called La Spinetta, after his marriage.

The decision to depict on the label of our wines the image of “The Rhinoceros,” the work of Albrecht Dürer, is determined by Giorgio Rivetti ‘s admiration for this German artist.

All this would probably never have happened without Gabriele Cionini, a great family friend and expert in the world of wine and art, who introduced the Rivettis to the works of Dürer.
